lately

Hi--thanks for reading. I'm SO glad last week is gone. I pushed myself beyond what I care to and it showed in every aspect of my life. This week is going to be easier, but I still have a presentation to give and some other big assignments. I didn't end up going to open mic night as I'd hoped, but it's ok. I'll do it next time. I'm finally getting excited about recording. I've got David Gray on my desktop in a pic where he's in a studio with mic/headphones/piano and everytime I see it, I want to record. His new CD "Life in Slow Motion" is pretty good, so check it out. He's gonna be my muse for this process. As soon as I get some help on adjusting the comp. to the best audio for my digital piano, I'll be on a roll. I'll keep you posted.

Short post

I've been busy lately, which is the norm when school's going on. I've got 15 credit hours, a part-time M-F job and a weekend job, and I'm slowly building a social life. I have a quiz or exam everyday next week which should just be wonderful. Today in World Music we listened to a performer from Iran play the tar, which is a 6 stringed instrument that has notes in quarter steps. In other words, where we have E, E flat, D, they have E, E 1/2 flat, E flat, D 1/2 sharp, D.
Happy Birthday Billie! Your card is in the mail.

everbuddy's busy

If anyone reads this anymore, let me know if I should keep this blog thing going. Also, let me know what you think about Windows NT versus Windows XP. My computer got a virus and now all my folders are messed up. I want to know whether to reinstall NT or go for XP. Of course, I could always wait until they unveil the newest one, but who knows when that will be. Also, I have started a myspace page--let me know if you want the addy.

Wow, this is fitting--so is the 2nd place choice

You are elegant, withdrawn, and brilliant.
Your mind is a weapon, able to solve any puzzle.
You are also great at poking holes in arguments and common beliefs.

For you, comfort and calm are very important.
You tend to thrive on your own and shrug off most affection.
You prefer to protect your emotions and stay strong.

Prayers for our nation

I'd just like to ask everyone to pray for our nation. Not only is the damage from the hurricane awful, many need food, homes, clothes, money, etc. Of course, there is also the gas price increase, making many people unable to continue traveling for their jobs, driving to work and school, etc. On top of this, Bush is to be meeting over 100 of the world's leaders in NYC this month to discuss a variety of issues. As you can imagine, some people are going nuts and doing extreme things. Let's pray for safety of leaders and citizens, swift financial recovery, immediate aid for necessities, substantial rebuilding efforts, and open doors in our nation's arenas, schools, and appartments.

God bless,
SB
