Hey! Thanks for the latest comments. It's my parents' 33rd anniversary today, so I'm all by my lonesome in this small town while they're eating dinner. I'm guessing they went to Lincoln, but who knows. Still no word from CU, but I did get a thing today about finances...go fig...a college that wants to know about my money! What an idea! Glad I'm not at MMC anymore (for many reasons). Hear the rates are soaring now. Word to MMC buds--get out while you still can! Don't invest your money to that dump. I told someone I'd fill in for them last night. It was a 7 hour shift that went 'til midnight and I was really feeling stressed. I had a panic attack and couldn't breathe or see right. Ended up calling the only available coworker to come in and take 9-12 for me. It sucks, but I had to do it. In a few days we are getting a water-blaster machine to take the chipped paint off of our house. We will have a new look in July! I'm so glad to have new paint after 19 years of this black and white. Check off another thing on the Summer To-Do list! We'll also be replacing some bad wood on the roof and getting new gutters with screens over them so leaves and debris don't fall in. Gotta call the car people next week. My car's headliner has fallen halfway down in the back and partway in the front, making it hard to see what's going on. Safety first--gonna get that fixed. $150 out of the bank. How come every penny I work for goes to someone besides myself? When will I be able to get things I simply WANT rather than NEED? Speaking of things I want, I've set up 3 computer systems online; one Dell and 2 Compaq/HP systems. I'm looking for the best deal and I should be getting the 'winner' soon. I had to uninstall games from my dad's office's computer because some of the agents use their time at 'work' playing games. They've downloaded a few that are little pests. You have to uninstall them or they will never close out. I put a note on the monitor saying, "This is a company computer. Please do not download any software (such as games) to this system. Thank you." Nice eh? Someone has to say it...I'm not freakin' messing with the computer every week thanks to some new piece of crap they downloaded. Jeez...

My life since last blog

Still have no word from CU about acceptance, but I've received a letter from the band department saying they're happy to have me, which leads me to believe I've been accepted. I also don't have my financial stuff from SCC and classes start up again in a few weeks. I'd like to know what I'm expected to pay.
Took the kittens to the vet. They have ear mites, ringworm, and worms. YEAH! Not knowing this, I've been petting them and I have ringworm too. I have itchy circles all over my body. This is what I get for taking in an animal to care for. The mother cat must have brought everything in from outdoors. Say a prayer that the kittens make it out Ok cuz the boy has it the worst and his fur is missing in patches.
Tomorrow (technically today) I'm going with the family to a baseball game. I have no interest in watching sports; I'd rather be playing ball than witnessing it. It should be meaningful to dad though so I have to do it for a Father's Day thing. I got him one of those Willow Tree figurines of a father and son. Hope he likes.
I may have an opportunity to try out for "Jekyll and Hyde" the musical this fall. Somehow my digital cable recorded a stage production of it....is that a sign? No one set it to record! I've been watching it to see who I'd even want to try out for.
Sent yet another loan check in. By 2008 I should have it paid off! I worked 2 jobs today but neither is a huge money-maker.
As time goes on I feel that my talents should be used equally for writing and music, rather than just music. I've started an autobiography that is full of humor and intended to be inspirational and last night I began a novel based on my relationship with my grandpa. I'm VERY excited about that one. I think it could go over well with people. I'm considering a music major and a creative writing minor (or the like). I'm also waiting to see if my poetry is selected for publication at SCC. I won't know until next month at the earliest.
Still trying to figure out how to arrange, paint, and style my bedroom. Also putting pressure on my parents to get going on painting the house. Also looking for a computer. I'd love a laptop, but I'm not sure I trust that for making hundreds of copies of my CDs. I want something portable, but I don't think that a laptop is going to give me the power, memory, and options that a PC or Mac would. If you have any comments, do share.
It's getting late and I better get to sleep-got the first mass with the new priest and of course the game to go to.

Chillin'

I'm done with school and I don't have to work for a while. I actually have a break! I'm going to do some things I've wanted to get done around the house (especially my room) and take up stuff for sheer pleasure. This ought to be interesting--I'm not used to actual free time.
I've been getting back into my exercise routine. It's time to tone up and look great. I've kept off the weight I made myself lose before college, which is great, but I want that rock star bod! NO LAUGHING!
I'm going through my mini-cassettes and listening to recordings of my original songs. I then write the lyrics down if I haven't done so already and try to establish some chords. Think I'm gonna send in a pack of my songs to get copywritten this summer.
This fall I will turn 21 and I'm looking back on so many missed opportunities. One thing that bugs me the most is that I've never been in a romantic relationship. I'm talented, kind, honest, and more than decent. What's wrong here? When I've been asked out I've ran the other way. When I've asked someone out, they were taken or waiting for someone specific. I feel so embarrassed that I've never known this aspect of life. The thought of a girlfriend terrifies me most of the time and I don't know how to get over that. Seeing the 'relationship' that my parents have has put a negative view in my head I think. It will be good to get back into the social scene in college. Still don't know if I've been accepted to CU cuz they have NEVER mailed me a thing. I think that's pretty damn shitty of them. They should at least say, "Have your application, thanks".

A break at last!

Sup guys,
Took my final finals today! I will be out of school until Summer Term starts in July. It will be sooo nice not to have Soc, Lit, and Poetry homework to do everyday, including weekends. I thought I'd have a weekend for fun, but guess what? I'm back to work. I'll be subbing for 2 people at Movie Place--one Friday, one Saturday. I need to do it and make the boss proud! Any prayers will be much appreciated.
Tomorrow I'm going in to Lincoln to sell my books back to the SCC bookstore. Let's see how long I can keep the money they give me! I did end up getting paid for Summer VBS at the church, so I'm very grateful and plan on sending that straight to the old checking account--where it needs to stay.
The 4th is on a Sunday, so they cut a bunch of regular performers, including my group. I'm kinda ticked that they are cutting back to allow for no morning shows. I understand and all, but I was planning on it and looking forward to it and I found out yesterday that we aren't on. This was going to be my 3rd year. The head female vocalist and I decided we're gonna do surprise performances and just show up at the bandshell (which doesn't really get used for anything) and start singing.
The kittens know how to use the litter box, THANK GOD...now if only their mother could figure it out...
Well, I'm using my dad's office computer at 2 am, so I better go!

First June Blog Ever

Hey guys. Thanks to those who keep reading and have posted comments. Hopefully you notice I do read and respond. I've been busy, busy, busy this week and have tried not to pull my hair out (or what little is there after getting it shaved down). I taught Vacation Bible School at my church this week Wed-Fri and it has been great but tiring. I am not only the teacher, but have been the one in charge (for years now) to set up rooms. I had 3 rooms to design and 'build'. In one room I used faux rock to make a French grotto. In another I made a make-shift Mexican altar with a hand-painted Lady of Guadalupe image hanging above it. The other room needed little design, but I had to set up tables and displays. My first day teaching was the worst because I was going on 2 hours of sleep (thanks to the unfinished Guadalupe image and my dad). I about passed out during mass, but that's OK. I'm grateful for the great weather, the awesome kids I had, and the ability to share my faith--something I'm passionate about. PS-We aren't getting paid this year.
The kittens are now 4 weeks old. They have begun to poop! I'm trying to teach them about litter boxes--they have preferred leaving the 'nest' and going on the carpet or just going wherever they are...fun stuff. They climb out of the nest-box they sleep in and are getting to be great runners. Shouldn't be long before they don't need to be nursed by Honey (momma cat) anymore.
Classes are winding down and I'm in much need of a break. I was asked to perform at the Cornhusker State Games in a talent competition, but I just can't do it now. Gotta do those finals and get myself doing more things just for fun. I'll be glad when June 10 comes around because I'll be able to start my break.
Still don't know about work at MPV. My boss hasn't talked to me in over a month, so I have no clue what she thinks. I checked in with a lady I thought I was gonna fill in for and she didn't need me. Maybe I'll get back to work, maybe not. I don't care at this point.
