Sick with the mystery bug

Hey all. Since I've become popular in the last few days, I will update. Thanks to all who posted, it means a lot.
I have been sick since last Monday or so with something. I have no idea what it is...as of today there has been no fever, throwing up (thank God), sore throat, etc. I have been extremely tired all the time, my stomach gets upset occasionally, and nothing sounds good to eat (yet I'm always feeling hungry). My dad, who NEVER gets sick (and I hate him for that) is sick. Last night he walked in from work with eyes watering, face all red, and basically looking like hell. If he's sick, this is one strong bug. I've missed a bunch of classes this week, which is not good for me, but I can't really help it. I took an exam today and was so out of it I couldn't really give a crap what the questions were so I just circled what sounded good for answers. Since the class average was like a D, I should fit in!
Just had my muffler replaced...again. I had one put on at MMC and that had to be replaced. Nothing comes with a warranty anymore I swear. Mom just replaced hers too. Something's goin' on with my headlight too--it won't come on unless I walk up to it and tap it. Doesn't look like it's loose...
I am signed up for an open mic night performance at the local coffee shop, Neutral Groundz. It's this Friday and if I'm feeling like this, I won't be able to attend. Here's hoping for the best.
I've recently switched to Mozilla Firefox from Internet Explorer because D.I.T. said the computers they've seen virus problems with have I.E. and recommended the switch. A couple days later, Firefox was in the news for a big increase in people using it. Some guys have been arrested for 'spim', or IM spam. Whatever I got from MSN a while back is still in the system, but much better. I hope they crucify whoever sent that crap out.
Haven't given anything up for Lent. I did take some food to the local food pantry today though. OOPS, I'm not to let my right hand know what my left is doing......
I have a week left until the much-needed Spring Break. Not sure what I'm doing, but it will be nice not to worry about classes and such.

Song of the Day: "Sleeps with Butterflies" by Tori Amos. She was on Regis yesterday and Letterman a couple before that. She'll also be on Carson Daly and some other things. I got on a live MSN chat with her and her fans yesterday which was cool. She answered questions (not mine though :( ) and it was pretty cool to know we were doing the same thing at the same time a 1/2 nation apart.

Beware of MSN

I got a virus with a ton of ads and porn and junk through MSN messenger yesterday. After 2 hours, much was cleaned up but still not fixed completely. The computer people in Lincoln are full of computers with this and they gave us some tips. So much fun--the computer was freezing up and I couldn't get my homework done.
I've been ill and anxious this week. I have 2 exams and all my classes, as well as a dr. appointment and I have to get my muffler fixed. I also have a hair appointment and I missed my Sower meeting--my article is not going to be printed. Lovely.
Right now I'm reading the entire book of John for tomorrow's 1 1/2 hr. class. I also have a bunch to do over the weekend, including studying for another exam next week.
No one is really reading or responding to this anymore, so maybe I'll stop posting...at least for a while.

Changes have come and I'm still going step by step

Hey all--quick update. I made it through my first 1 hr. 25 min. worth of New Testament yesterday---fought the anxiety like a warrior! I also attended all classes all the way through today. This is definate progress from a couple weeks ago. I'm done for the weekend except for homework. Mom and Lisa went to see Grams so I have the house to myself when Dad isn't around. Hopefully we won't kill each other before they get back. Grams turns 86 on Sunday and Lisa decorated a cake for her. Tomorrow I think I'm gonna go to a recital on campus by a former CU music professor. I get credit for each recital I attend. 10=one year of recital attendance, which is factored into my degree completion. Had my cheese frenchies for lunch since it's a Lenten Friday. Not sure what supper will be, but I'm betting that Dad mentions going somewhere bar/lounge-ish for a fish dinner. Yippee.
Song of the Day: "Be Still My Soul"-traditional church hymn that I've heard done very peacefully by Joanna, an Irish singer.

Getting there bit by bit

Well, another week has begun and I've had trouble with class attendance. I'm not shaken though--things will work out. I've caught up my Bible reading for one class and turned in an assignment today. When I go on Thursday, I'll be right in the scheme of things. No word from one of my profs. that I've emailed and sent a letter to. That upsets me. I need to know what notes, articles, text, videos, and such has been gone over but that's hard when I never catch her in her office and never get replies. I'm trying there with no luck. The other classes are going well. I have a voice lesson and a meeting for the newspaper yet today. If I'm motivated, I'll do my Tuesday night workout session at the gym. My arms are looking more defined and I've dropped 3 of the lbs. I had gained.
I was up at the office scooping snow at 7:30 am yesterday. 2 businesses to the left and one to the right had not scooped snow, but when the city complains at how snow is scooped, who do they complain to? Moi. There is a decorative fence (such a dumb idea) in front of the office, which means you have to either sling snow over it or try to squeeze the shovel under it to push snow into the street. Of course, then they complain that it's in the street. If you leave it by the fence, they complain that it's NOT in the street. Geez. The fence sucks and serves no purpose--the fact that it's only in front of a few downtown businesses makes me even more pissed cuz that means most people don't have this trouble at their offices. To make me more upset, my dad goes, "I thought you were gonna scoop my sidewalks!" yesterday around 9:30. I was like, "I already did you ASSHOLE and if you would have actually gone to the office, you'd know that!" Ah, the love of father and son.
Mom and Lisa are going to Iowa without me this coming weekend to visit my Grams for her 86th birthday. I usually go, but I'm gonna do homework and I just don't feel like the trip.
There is an open mic night at the coffee shop on the 25th and I'm crossing my fingers and toes that I have the guts to do 2 or 3 songs to get the experience and put my name out there. Wish me luck.
Went to CUnplugged and listened to a Nashville singer named Zane Williams. He writes music, sings, plays guitar, and has a CD in the works with some bigtime country music people. He was very entertaining and made us laugh a ton. I was there early, so I got a free CUnplugged mug and helped set up the seats. I also got to meet some new people on campus, which was great.
Tomorrow I have World Civ., Piano, Voice, and Ash Wednesday mass. I am supposed to attend a general recital for music credits. Not sure how that's gonna all happen.
Y'all are in my prayers and I hope to see you in person sometime soon. Erin is trying to get down here sometime, maybe March, which should be fun. Haven't seen her since this month 2 years ago. Side note-FUCK YOU MMC! Whew.
If you go to Launch on Yahoo, you can listen to my personalized radio station (under redrenault). I have 950-975 ratings yet to go to be called a Launch "Addict". Right now I'm a "Fanatic".

Much love, much peace,
Steve

Song of the Day: "High and Dry" by Radiohead. Jamie Cullum's version is cool too.

A Change Is Gonna Come

Hey there guys! I'm feeling good today. I attended all classes this week except one, which means I'm fighting my anxiety better! I'm getting the help I need and I'm feeling more confident all the time. It's nice to feel this way again. I'm done for the week and I've gotten an exam out of the way. Good deal of homework to do over the weekend, but it's all good. I'm gonna go see a singer/guitarist on campus tomorrow evening for CUnplugged. Maybe I can get some insider info. on the music biz! Got some things figured out with the friend issue which is also good. 2 buddies that read this have started their own blogs, which is also somethin' interesting. To them--I do read them, but I don't always comment since yours require signing in just to respond. Today I meet with a therapist to try to get to the bottom of this whole ordeal with my anxiety and hopefully he'll give me some tools to get rid of this for good.
Right now I'm looking for: increased inner peace, new/strengthened friendships, music opportunities, and a girlfriend.

Song of the Day: "A Change Is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke--listen to Gavin DeGraw's. So amazing.

Much love,
Stephen
